Dwelling within the more underground confines of the more eclectic and extreme recesses of the music scene, Profound Lore Records has dabbled within various genres such as black metal, death metal, doom metal, avant-garde, ambient, noise, progressive, acoustic, and post rock, Profound Lore Records’ aim is to embody a cohesive collective amongst the artists; one that makes them compatible with one another under this grand banner to create a strong uncompressing aesthetic.

To date, Profound Lore Records has worked and collaborated with such notable artists as Isis, Ulver, Agalloch, Leviathan, Xasthur, Nachtmystium, Asunder, Thralldom, Portal, Melechesh, Orphaned Land, and Diabolical Masquerade, all while helping to build awareness of some of the newer prospects within the genre. These include artists such as respected drone-doom masters Nadja, the pummeling bash of Arctic Circle’s bush metal histrionics, and the mind-twisting static ritualistic noise insanity of the mysterious entity known as Wold.
