Aussie avant-garde occult death/black metal band STARGAZER will be releasing their long awaited follow-up to 2005’s “The Scream That Tore The Sky” through Profound Lore Records. Known as one of the most unique bands within death/black metal, the new Stargazer full-length has been much anticipated over the last several years and it is safe to say that the core duo that comprise Stargazer, namely The Serpent Inquisitor and The Great Righteous Destroyer, are finally prepared to begin the recording process of an opus that has been in conspiracy for several years. The band head into the studio late Aug to begin the process of manifesting the new album with plans of finally unleashing it Spring of 2010 (if all goes accordingly). Just a quick heads up, Finland’s masters of horror inspired dirgy down-tuned death doom HOODED MENACE have signed with Profound Lore. Mastermind Lasse Pyykko is currently putting the finishing touches (while conjuring inspiration from the most cult of horror films) on writing the follow up to the masterful “Fulfill The Curse” album, and rest assured, the new album will be heavier and more all-encompassing. Look for Lasse and co. to enter the studio sometime this fall and if all goes accordingly, look for the new Hooded Menace opus to be released sometime early 2010.

Already having conquered the West Coast where both bands have formidable live experience, the two bands are finally going to tread new ground within the East Coast, something fans of both acts have been craving. Hailing from Indianapolis Indiana, COFFINWORM are another depraved act to join the Profound Lore family. Coffinworm are an uncompromising act that play blasphemous and vile blackened sludge and pretty much describe their sound as death, doom, & destruction. Simple as that. The band have recently finished recording their awesome “Great Bringer Of Night” demo (recorded by GATES OF SLUMBER drummer Bob Fouts) and is available from their myspace site HERE where you can also hear samples of their vile music. Said demo has songs such as ‘Start Saving For Your Funeral’ and ‘High On The Reek Of Your Burning Remains’. We will also be carrying copies of the demo as well. Currently the band are writing material for their debut full length to be recorded sometime near the end of the year (with Sanford Parker) with a projected release somewhere early 2010.
