ALTAR OF PLAGUES - White Tomb
Entitled “White Tomb”, the follow-up to the acclaimed independent “Sol” mini-album release (and after doing UK tour stints with Mayhem and Wolves In The Throne Room), and assessed by Terrorizer magazine as “one of the most promising black metal debuts since ‘Diadem Of 12 Stars’”, Altar Of Plagues’ sound canvas stretches much further than certain perceived notions.

Epic, cinematic, and surging, “White Tomb” is a storming vision where stark images of crumbling skyscrapers, dying and rotten urban structures, empty cracked worn down highways and rising oceans dominate through the convergence of different styles.  From epic elongated black metal stretches, slow plodding doom ala Khanate/Burning Witch (speaking of doom, ex-GRAVES AT SEA vocalist Nathan Misterek makes a guest appearance), minimalistic electronic/martial ambient/industrial vibes reminiscent of the Cold Meat catalog, along with the towering apocalyptic vibes of Old Man Gloom and early Isis (“Mosquito Control/Celestial” era) and the instrumental wonders of Mogwai and Red Sparowes, “White Tomb” is a vicious uncompromising atmospheric pillage that serves as a soundtrack to collapsing cities becoming desolate wastelands.

Tracklisting for “White Tomb” goes as follows:

1.    Earth (i. As A Womb, ii. As A Furnace)
2.    Through The Collapse (iii. Watchers Restrained, iv Gentian Truth)

An excerpt from “Earth” can be heard via our MP3 section.
