Featuring Neige of ALCEST and Fursy Teyssier of LES DISCRETS, the Amesoeurs self-titled full length is a bleak outcry where melancholic black metal, ‘80s new wave, and post punk weave their way amongst a violent and somber sonic landscape.
Continuing the path paved by their excellent and acclaimed “Ruines Humaines” EP, in which said release had already made Amesoeurs one of, if not the most influential act to combine the likes of black metal, new wave, and post punk (as evidenced by the wave of myspace bands conjuring this style). There have been many speculations with this debut full-length, some speculating that there will be no black metal elements whatsoever within its discourse etc. But in actuality, while there are many black metal elements inherent in the Amesoeurs debut, this will easily go down as one of the most oppressive and bleakest sounding albums of the year. And much more violent sounding than the debut EP.
